Is therapy confidential?
Yes, except if you have serious intentions of harming another person or yourself, or if you pose a risk to children.
Do I need to be referred by my GP?
No it’s not necessary to be referred by your GP .
Do I need therapy?
If there are things troubling you, if you feel low, if you have troubles or doubts or maybe you don’t understand your feelings then it’s likely that you would benefit from therapy.
How long will it last?
This will depend on your needs, which we can discuss when we meet. Therapy can last from a few months, a year or longer.
What if I feel scared?
Undertaking therapy is a daunting process, although one which could ultimately be one of the most important choices you make.
What if I decide it is not for me?
This is fine and you remain in charge of when to stop throughout our work.
How will it help me?
Different people have different goals. Some people turn their lives around completely, for others the changes are more subtle, while others have a specific problem they wish to resolve such as an addiction or compulsion.

Ultimately the quality of the relationship between client and therapist is the most important thing, as well as the capacity to understand in detail your life circumstances and predicament.
